Review
Summary |
Sleep Support™ is yet another product by the company Traditional Tibetan Healing people, from New Jersey. We have reviewed two of their other supplements, Anxiety Support™ and Happiness Support™ here and this one seems equally mysterious. The website uses clever language and purports that each of their formulas ingredients and proportions has been informed by the wisdom of ancient Tibetan medicine, Ayurveda from pre-Vedic India, and the traditions of Chinese health and healing, among others.

 | Ingredients in Focus |
|
Unlike in the case of some of their other products, we were able to locate some information about the ingredients in Sleep Support.
Inula may be used to address respiratory ailments such as bronchitis and emphysema; it was traditionally used to treat tuberculosis. It acts on mucus as an expectorant. It is often prescribed for children and the elderly. It is a relaxant, and therefore indicated when there is a nervous component in a cough.
Inulin may help prevent bowel diseases, including colon cancer. However, research in humans is limited for all of these possible uses.
Myristica fragrans or nutmeg, even in smaller doses, nutmeg can still be toxic. It has also been suggested that in small doses, nutmeg can be a trigger for lucid dreaming

In addition to its reported benefit for those experiencing insomnia, the retailer’s website also claims that Sleep Support™ “helps stabilize blood and circulatory energy, increasing memory and acting as a tonic to the heart and nerves. Sleep Support can be taken for chronic insomnia associated with mental disorders.”
They say that the consumer will feel the product begin to work within fifteen to twenty minutes. This formula is typically taken for up to a month to manage chronic sleep problem. As directed by the website, it relaxes the body and eases the mind and can be taken with conventional medications.

 | Final Thoughts |
|
Traditional systems of healing from ancient cultures of the East have been popular in the United States since the 1960’s. People who are dissatisfied with traditional Western or allopathic medicine have turned toward the East seeking its clandestine wisdom and mind/body systems of wellness. Many patients/practitioners discover an enduring feeling of health and higher states of consciousness in the herbs, chants, meditation and yoga poses of the Buddhist, Hindu and Jain religious traditions.
Traditional Tibetan Healing products, including Sleep Support may be considered by the consumer who is unable to sleep due to stress or nervous tension. After extensive research we have concluded that the addition of the mineral form of lithium would greatly benefit this type of supplement. Seek products from manufactures confident enough to offer free samples for evaluation.
