Program Reviews
Seredyn®

Review Summary
It is common for people to feel run down and depressed due to various stressors in life. Oftentimes, such people will turn to a daily dietary supplement for a solution. Seredyn® is such a product and manufactured by the company BioNeurix, which claims to promote only the “highest” quality of formulations.

Due to the high amount of supplements that have similar advertised benefits it can be confusing for consumers when they begin to look for a product that suits their needs. We always suggest researching a supplement thoroughly and visiting the company website for additional information. We will assist in this process by taking a closer look at Seredyn® to determine if it can relieve stress and produce the “calming effect”, as advertised.

Ingredients at a Glance
Seredyn® consists of three main ingredients. The most active is L-Theanine, which is a derivative of Green Tea and does contain caffeine. This ingredient is widely used in mood enhancing supplements since it is purported to generate “calm feelings.” Though, as of now these claims are based on nothing more then theories and have yet to be proven. The other ingredients included in this formulation are Passion Flower Extract, which is advertised to be a “natural remedy for insomnia” by healers for “centuries”, and Valerian, which is said to be a natural sedative.

Ingredients in Focus
Overall, this formulation offers rather universal ingredients and does not provide a complex mixture. We find it odd that the manufacturer would choose to add a stimulant such as caffeine in a product that is advertised to be “calming.” Many nutritionists urge consumers to avoid supplements that are stimulant-based due to adverse side effects such as jitteriness and nausea.

It does not appear that the manufacturer choose to utilize the mineral carrier Orotate in the formulation. This carrier delivers the ingredient directly where they are needed so they can eventually access the blood cells in the brain, where oftentimes imbalances in moods originate. Without this carrier the formulation may not be as potent.

Website
We are happy that this product has its own website that at first glance appears to offer comprehensive information. However, on further inspection visitors can see that the site mostly consists of advertisements and very little useful information. While the complete ingredient list is provided, there is only a brief description given for the purpose of each individual supplement and there is no cited research.

Though, the most disappointing aspect was that this site does not post even one testimonial at time of review. Customer feedback is essential when reviewing a product since it can show how the product has worked for past users. When manufacturers fail to post even a single user review we do have to wonder if they have yet to receive any positive feedback.

Positives
• Comes in capsule form
• Company posts a website
• Moderately priced

Negatives
• Contains caffeine
• No posted testimonials
• Contains universal ingredients within formulation
• No free trial offered

Final Thoughts
Many people experiencing a sequence of down-trodden moods may be eager to try any supplement. However, advertised promises can be misleading at times and oftentimes products do not perform as promised. Seredyn® does tell consumers that it can generate calming effects, yet inspection of its formulation shows it contains the stimulant caffeine, which is more likely to produce the opposite effect.

Without posted testimonials it’s hard to tell how this supplement may work for users. However, those consumers who are interested in testing this product's abilities, it retails for $34.95 for a one-month supply.
