Cinchona, or Quinine bark, has been used since the 17th century in the treatment of malaria. In the Homeopathic pharmacopaia Ignatia is known for its use in “emotional problems”. It has “symptoms” of trembling and agitation and if prescribed for unstable, artistic types, according to one source. It is used mostly for women, described as “thin”, “sensitive”, and high-strung”. It is also advertised to be used, in the context of homeopathy, for menstrual pain, sore throat and cough.

Kali Phos is made Potassium Phosphate and is often used for people who are getting over illness and fever. It is also prescribed for exhaustion, backache, hypersensitivity and indigestion

Nervousness #4 is labeled for grief, moodiness, and stress-induced listlessness. Though the website copy does not say as much explicitly, it is our guess that this is a product intended for women, who, in another century (or two) ago would have been labeled with the diagnosis hysteria. The ingredients, homeopathic herbs that are prescribed based on a patient’s overall presentation, and based on a complex interplay of physical characteristics and manifestation of symptoms, are perhaps beneficial is used appropriately and properly mitigated.
